November 2011 Mix
A little something I’ve been working on.
And so I put my resources where my mouth is. As the former lead designer for Google Reader, I offer my services to Google, rejoining for a three month contract in order to restore and enhance the utility of Google Reader, while keeping it in line with Google’s new visual standards requirements. I will put my current projects on hold to ensure that Google Reader keeps its place as the premier news reader, and raises the bar of what a social newsreader can be.You know you’ve fucked up when…
I do like the new aesthetic Google have given their services, but the only excuse for the feature removal is either shortsightedness or laziness.
Here’s to you, Steve (Taken with instagram)
Steve, after over a decade, I still go “holy shit” when I use your products. Thank you for that.

10 years (by brett jordan)
Things like this makes me wonder what could possibly happen in the next 10 years to make me think that today’s smart-phones are puny and antiquated. I know it will happen, but I can’t imagine how just yet.
Will Wilkinson of The Economist:
With or without WikiLeaks, the technology exists to allow whistleblowers to leak data and documents while maintaining anonymity. With or without WikiLeaks, the personel, technical know-how, and ideological will exists to enable anonymous leaking and to make this information available to the public. Jailing Thomas Edison in 1890 would not have darkened the night.
Yet the debate over WikiLeaks has proceeded as if the matter might conclude with the eradication of these kinds of data dumps—as if this is a temporary glitch in the system that can be fixed; as if this is a nuisance that can be made to go away with the application of sufficient government gusto.
Truth will out.
