I don’t normally agree with TechCrunch articles, but they nailed it with this one. With the iPhone, Apple became the first cell phone manufacturer to finally get out from under the stranglehold of the carriers. They opened the door for other manufacturers to release phones that were not limited or de-featured by the carriers. Makers of Android devices have been making every mistake to undo that hard work. If you don’t believe me, just look at the entire Samsung Galaxy S line, the Droid X, the Droid 2, and of course the beloved Evo 4G. All the halo Android devices have been given bloat-ware, been feature restricted, and in some cases completely closed off. All at the request of the carriers.
